Open to all Grades EST-G4. This CCA is for children who are confident in the water and can swim at least 1 length (50m) of the pool in two recognisable strokes. During this course, students will learn the basic technical characteristics of the swimming strokes. The focus is on correct technique and developing endurance in swimming. General objectives: Refine backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle up to FINA standards. Introduce butterfly. Develop endurance in the water with the objective of comfortably swimming more than 50m of each stroke. Students in this CCA will be grouped according to ability.


Ian Hallo is primary school trained and has participated in a variety of outdoor sports at a competitive level. He has taught Primary P.E. in Australia and the U.K. as well as coached Primary school students in the following sports – rugby, football, swimming touch, cross country and athletics. He has done his AUSTSWIM qualification training recently.
