Thursday (2:55-4:25 pm) | Ensemble Room (H329)
Semester 2 Programme | Cost: $260

The Rock & Pop CCA, with a strong focus on rock and pop music, hopes to meet the needs of students who have particular interest in performing music together in a large ensemble as well as in forming small groups. This CCA is open for students who have good keyboard skills, good percussion/drums skills or basic guitar skills. The students will explore repertoire ranging from rock through pop up to latin music.

Expectations: keyboard/piano players should be able to read notation, percussion players should be able to read drum charts, guitar players should be able to read chords and tabs, but most importantly, the students must enjoy working with other musicians in a positive and constructive manner. Regular attendance is expected. Participants will be required to be available for performances both in and out of school. Performances may happen during weekends. Students must own instruments at home to practice.

Language of instruction will be English and German.

Arne Friedemann will be the new instructor for this CCA. He is a secondary school teacher for French, History and Music at the German section of GESS as well as a former rock musician. Being himself a guitarist and bass guitarist, he has many years of experience with various types of bands and ensembles.
