GESS Orchestra
Grade 6-12 | 12-30 Participants
Monday (2:55-4:25 pm) | Music Room 2 (H306)
Year-Long Programme | Cost: $520

The GESS orchestra was founded in January 2009 as a pure string ensemble and has been growing since. We play a wide range of repertoire from classical and pop music to film music. If you are keen on playing in an ensemble we are looking for you! Usually we play during school events (like the graduation ceremony), the annual summer concert and smaller occasions, as well as joint concerts with our friends from Kuala Lumpur in both Singapore and in KL.

Expectations: Students should have at least one year of playing experience and note reading. Participants will be required to be available for performances both in and out of school. Performances may happen during weekends. Excellent attendance is expected.

Language of instruction will be both English and German.

Peter Springer is the instructor for this CCA. He is a secondary school teacher for music and computer science at the German section of GESS with his main instruments trombone and piano. During his study and teaching period he has been involved in various ensembles, bands and choirs at university, school and church.
