This class offers early Dance and Music education for students in Kiga and PP, who like to start with ballet. In a child-appropriate and imaginative way, it is an introduction into the world of dance. Small Choreographies and step sequences are taught to creative and playful music. Ballet supports concentration, body awareness and motoric skills as well as active listening. Exercises are used to enhance imagination, creativity and self-expression.
Exercises are given to developed strength and flexibility, balance and stability. Depending on age and child, the students learn to improve their gross motor skills each in their time. These skills are necessary to have control over, to later learn the more complicated steps and movements of ballet and other dance forms.
Social skills are also a part of the classroom. Good manners, taking turns and being respectful to others is stressed.
In this class provides a foundation and first dances will be practiced. The class will prepare your child for classical ballet lessons.
From Australia, Ashlee found her love for dancing at the age of 3 and has been trained in all facets of dance. Ashlee completed a Diploma in Commercial Dance & Musical Theatre at the Australian Dance Performance Institute and then went to complete a contract with Norwegian Cruise Lines. Ashlee has competed nationally for hip hop, been in various film clips & TV commercials, and performed at various corporate events and festivals nationally & internationally.
Ashlee was a previous Brisbane Silver bullets cheerleader for the Brisbane basketball team in Australia and is currently teaching overseas. She looks forward to being able to teach & share her experiences with the students.
