Model United Nations (MUN)
Grade 9-12 | 12-22 Participants
Wednesday (3:00-4:30 pm) | Classroom F203
Year-Long Programme | Cost: $520

Model United Nations is about international learning. Students represent a country or NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) in a mock UN conference. This not only involves thorough preparation in relation to worldwide issues, but also discussion and formal debate in an international setting. We have been running this programme with great success at GESS for 6 years. It is an incredible opportunity to meet and work with some of the brightest students in the Asia Pacific and European region as many international and government schools participate and are highly selective in the choice of their students. Participating in MUN provides students with a taste of lobbying, resolution writing, establishing country positions and being part of a formal debate. Extra Material Costs will apply depending on local conference participation. Language of instruction will be English.

I have been involved with the Model United Nations for several years across different European Schools and I am still amazed at the growth and satisfaction level that each of the students experience. The range and diversity of the issues discussed allows each student to apply their personal backgrounds and academic skills to world issues that surround us each day. Come along and join a team of other dedicated and motivated students that are offering their solutions to make our global community stronger.
